Terrific book with a great message for childrenI really enjoyed reading this book with my daughter. It was well written and great for children, who have encountered situations where other kids have made fun of them. The questions and puzzles at the end of the story are also excellent follow up tools for reviewing the story. I would strongly recommend it to any one with a child between the age of 4 and 9.

Everything you ever wanted to knowContained within this book is everything you could ever want to know about any country in the world. For each state it covers geography (size, location, etc), history, current politics, imports/exports, transportation, the number of movie theaters, the number of seats in the theatres, and a whole lot more. Truly an amazing reference for anyone interested in other countries; or your own for that matter.

Stops on the Way to Eden and Beyond

I love these poems -clear images, insights, humor, and tearsThis collection of Turner's poems shows his exceptional ability to create in all forms, traditional and free verse. He takes the eveyday, the mundane, the familiar and allows us to subtly go along on this journey with him, finding humor, insight, sometimes pain. By directly allowing me to see into his own core - bumbling "On The Burlington" , experiencing feelings "For Mother", considering the Japanese approach to kissing "Kiss o Kudasai" - he gently helps me to look at myself, at others and at the world. And it is a look I like, curious, intelligent, hopeful, spiritual, conveyed in delightful images that shine through even the saddest of content. My favorites? Many! Be sure to read "Your Casket Gleamed Like an Upright Piano" and "The Secret." Better yet, read them all!

Take Up My Cross (Treasures of the Vatican Library)
Published in Hardcover by Turner Pub (March, 1996)
Average review score:

Small gift art bookTake Up My Cross is a small gift volume in the Treasures of the Vatican LIbrary Series. It consists of illuminations and illustrations related to the cross from books in the Vatican library. There is no explanatory or identifying text; the art is often accompanied by a short scriptural passage related to the art. The art is well chosen and reproduced. For those who are primarily visual, this is an excellent meditative boo.
'Southern Africa Profiled' is full of essential information like where bus stations are located and interesting places to visit. But it is also packed with information which travel guides often neglect to include and gives one a true understanding of the area.
The book is not a substitute for a good travel guide. I would, however, recommend that a serious traveller to Southern Africa would benefit from buying this book. It certainly enhanced my experience of South Africa and Swaziland.
